Thanking her for the engraving and purse she sent him; discussing his "infirmity" and "small stock of strength"; mentioning the recent rejection of his "claim to succeed to the peerages of [his] father" [Augustus Frederick, Duke of Sussex]; giving details of his mother's decision to adopt an incognito [d'Ameland] after George III demanded that she stop calling herself by her husband's title (because their marriage had been declared invalid under the terms of the Royal Marriages Act).
